For the past nine years KOA has hosted its annual ” Come Kamp and Care with us Weekend.” This year it will be held May 11 & 12. When you pay for one night of camping on the 11th you get a free night on camping on the 12th at any of the 400-plus participating KOA campgrounds throughout the North American KOA system.
What I really like about this program is it is also used as a fundraiser to support KOA Care Camps for children with cancer.
KOA CEO Jim Rogers had this to say about the event, “Come Kamp & Care With Us Weekend has become a mainstay in our efforts to support this very worthy charity. It is so great that we have found a wonderful way to invite out campers to begin enjoying their summer camping season and also allow them to help us support camps for children with cancer.”
Koa has other reasons to celebrate as well. This year is the 50th anniversary of KOA. Rogers added, “We are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Kampgrounds of America in 2012, and we want to invite everyone to not only enjoy a free night on us May 12, but also bring their friends and family. Camping is a great way to bond with your family, and we don’t want anyone to miss out on the fun!”

For many KOA campers, Kamping Kabins, Kottages and Lodges represent the best of both worlds: days spent outdoors and nights spent out of the elements. Check with your KOA for specific floor plans and amenities.
